I am a retired healthcare provider. I worked in health care for almost 45 years. I worked in middle management in the patient care setting at a hospital in Gadsden, Alabama, for 38 years. I am an ordained minister who served as the music minister at the church I still attend for 32 years. I served in our community fire department for 28 years and 18 years as Chief. I am a researcher of local history. My studies are in my family and the community I live in. I have researched the Turkeytown community for 38 years.  I am a member of the Alabama Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association. I am currently the President of the Historical Preservation Society of Cherokee County, Alabama. I live in the middle of Coats’ Bend, Etowah County, Alabama. I grew up on US 411 North, 3/4th of a mile south of Turkeytown Creek, Etowah County, Alabama. I have lived here all but three years of my life.
